National Instruments cDAQ-T1101 Temperature Measurement Bundle
The National Instruments cDAQ-T1101 Bundle (Part Number: 865682-01) is a compact, USB-based data acquisition system designed for precision temperature and low-voltage measurements in laboratory, industrial, and research environments. This integrated bundle consists of the NI-9213 C Series Temperature Input Module, the cDAQ-9171 CompactDAQ Chassis, and the cRIO-9940 Backshell; as a result, high-accuracy temperature measurements from thermocouples can now be made while providing excellent signal conditioning and mechanical protection.
The NI-9213 module features 16 differential analog input channels and has the ability to sample at 75 total samples per second. This module has an input voltage range of ±78 mV, with the ability for cold-junction compensation, open-thermocouple detection, and anti-aliasing filters and with its wide voltage range, this module provides precise temperature readings for various types of thermocouples. This module is NIST-traceable, offering good noise immunity and a good common-mode voltage range for applications that can introduce electrical interference or where the distance to the input sensor leads may be long.
The cDAQ-9171 chassis is a 1-slot USB data acquisition platform that also supports the C Series voltage measurement module. It has the ability to connect directly to the PC via USB, providing a “plug and play interface”, which can be configured and run by using NI's software tools such as LabVIEW and DAQExpress. The compact and light-weight construction of the chassis allows for differential measurements but still operates in a temperature range of -20 °C to 55 °C, allowing for good use in both bench testing and portable field measurement applications. Finally, the cRIO-9940 backshell provides good strain relief and electrical safety, preventing operators from high-voltage signals, while a secure connection is made to the thermocouple wiring.
The NI cDAQ-T1101 Bundle is typically applied to areas of industrial process monitoring, thermal validation experiments, energy efficiency studies and environmental test areas.
